City of Soldotna Election Information

HOW IMPORTANT IS ONE VOTE?

GENERAL INFORMATION
The City of Soldotna will conduct its Regular Election on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.  City elections are administered by the City Clerk.  The filing period for city candidates will begin on July 31, 2009 and closes August 14, 2009.  Information regarding the 2009 election can be found on these web pages or by contacting the City Clerk's Office by telephone at 907-262-9107, fax at 907-262-4389, or by e-mail at tfahning@ci.soldotna.ak.us.  

Absentee/Early Voting by Mail
You may apply for an absentee/early ballot to be mailed to you by filing your written absentee/early ballot request form no earlier than the first of the year in which the election is to be held, nor less than seven calendar days before an election. Download the absentee/early voting by mail request application here.

Early Voting in Person
If you wish to vote early prior to Election Day, you may do so at Soldotna City Hall, 177 N. Birch Street, Soldotna, Alaska, beginning Monday, September 21, 2009 through Monday, October 5, 2009.  Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Voter Registration
For information on registering to vote, contact the State of Alaska Division of Elections at  907-522-VOTE or visit the State's website at http://ltgov.state.ak.us/electionsA person must be registered to vote at a residence address within Soldotna City limits at least 30 calendar days before the City election in which the person seeks to vote.

Polling Places
The polling site for registered voters residing within the Soldotna City Limits (District 33, Precinct 750) is Soldotna City Hall, 177 N. Birch Street, Soldotna, Alaska.
