Farnsworth Park
The Farnsworth Park sign
reads, “Dedicated to the Children of Soldotna.” Visit the park
and you’ll see that childhood imagination and energy were
guiding stars in the park’s design.
Benches around the
grassy perimeter and near the park’s center provide adults with
eagle-eye posts from which to view all the swinging, sliding,
climbing and even imaginary sailing on the park’s big boat.
Landscaped areas come in handy for little legs that need to run
and also work nicely for on-the-ground picnics. And what’s a
park for kids without bathrooms and water fountains?
A pavilion with picnic
tables offers shade against Alaska’s long sunlit days or shelter
from unexpected changes in weather.
