Our Mission: To create and operate a diverse parks and recreation program which provides superior recreation, leisure and community services to enrich the quality of life and promote public well being for residents and visitors alike. Soldotna's beauty is shared through our many parks. Our parks and recreation programs are the centerpiece of the Kenai Peninsula. With two river access parks, two campgrounds with river access and seven neighborhood parks, we have more parks within the City's boundary than anywhere else in Alaska.

Camping/River Access Parks
There are over 200 campsites to choose from in Soldotna and all of them have excellent access to the Kenai River for fishing! Our two campgrounds are Centennial Park and Swiftwater Park.

River Access Parks
Over 2,800 feet of elevated boardwalk will get you to the river for King, Sockeye and Silver Salmon fishing. In addition to the campgrounds, which both have river access and boat launches, you can find a place to wet your line at Rotary and Soldotna Creek Parks.

Neighborhood Parks
A place to run the dog, play with the kids, throw together a ball game or picnic or just sit back and enjoy . . . you'll find a park that suits each occasion. Contact Carmen Triana to reserve a picnic pavilion.
