Welcome to the City of Soldotna Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for the development and management of various capital improvement projects related to the City’s infrastructure.  We work with public and private entities, such as local, State, and Federal Governments, granting agencies, professional services and contractors.

To ensure the safety of the public we also oversee building practices throughout the City by requiring permitting, code compliance, inspections, and when appropriate, fire marshal review.   We strive to maintain a safe environment that is conducive to growth.

We encourage the public to contact us prior to beginning new construction so we can work in concert with them to achieve a final project that meets all code requirements.

City building requirements may also apply to remodel, repair and addition projects so early contact with our building department will ensure a smooth and code compliant end result.
