Personal Safety Tips
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Not every stranger who comes
into your neighborhood is a criminal by any means. There are
many door-to-door sale men, repairmen, and servicemen moving
around our neighborhoods all the time. But criminals
DO
take advantage of this by pretending to be legitimate workmen.
The Soldotna Police Department would rather investigate than
be called when it is too late. Your call could save a life,
prevent an injury, or stop a criminal act.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY CONCERNING VEHICLES
In this section we will provide ten (10) brief scenarios or
descriptions of circumstances. Your job is to determine what,
if any, possible crimes may being committed. Don't worry if
your answers are exactly right. Often activity involving
vehicles is harmless and innocent. However, sometimes what
appears to be the most innocent can prove to be the most
dangerous! If it is suspicious to YOU, then
call the police. Let them check it out. If it turns out to be
innocent, then the parties involved can be assured that there
is someone caring enough to check it out!
1. Vehicle
moving slow, without lights or driving in an aimless manner.
This is suspicious in any location, including residential
streets, schools and playgrounds.
2. Parked or occupied vehicles containing one or more
persons, especially significant if observed at an unusual
hour.
3.
Vehicles being loaded with
valuables if parked by a business or unoccupied residence.
4. Abandoned vehicle parked on your block.
5. Vehicle containing weapons.
6. Vehicle where someone is being forced into it, especially
females or juveniles.
7. Vehicle where a business transaction is being conducted
