Pull into the parking area at Soldotna Creek Park and the Sterling Highway suddenly seems miles away. You don't have to be a fisherman to enjoy this 5 acre picturesque spot, but it's okay if you are.
Picnic areas with barbecues are scattered through the trees and overlook the Kenai River. A pavilion with picnic tables stands ready in case you want a roof over your head while you eat. Playground equipment promises to keep the kids busy. Benches set to face the river provide a scenic Alaskan setting just right for daydreaming or the time-out of your choosing.
A wide trail that is handicapped accessible with assistance, leads to the mouth of Soldotna Creek and has over 500 feet of elevated boardwalk with river-access stair units that wind along the edge of the Kenai River.
The location of this day use only park makes it a favorite. You can reserve the pavilion for special gatherings by contacting Carmen Triana.
