The Soldotna Sports
Center
The main
part of Soldotna Sports Center (SSC) is the indoor Olympic size
ice rink. Ice is maintained from the first part of August to the
first part of April. Skating events range from State High School
Hockey to Public Skating times. Ice rental information can be
obtained by calling the Parks & Recreation Director, Andrew Carmichael, at (907)
262-3151. The Soldotna Parks and Recreation Department is
housed within the Soldotna Sports Center.
Soldotna
Sports Center contains an Olympic indoor ice rink as well as racquetball courts and a
conference room capable of holding 350 people with adjoining
kitchen.
When the ice
is gone the Soldotna Sports Center hosts numerous events
including the Kenai Peninsula Home Builder's Show, the Kenai
Peninsula Sports Recreation and Trade Show and the Kenai Classic
Banquet. Other events include the yearly Polaris and Arctic Cat
New Model Snow Machine Previews each spring.
Public
showers are available at a fee for the many campers in the
area. The showers are available Tuesday-Friday from
12:00-4:00pm for $3.00. Campers must have their own towels. A
small number of camper spots are also available for rent in a
small area behind the sports center.
